Spring Events KentuckySpring is upon us, which means you should expect some great springtime events happening in Kentucky. Car lovers, in particular, will be happy to know there are several car-related events occurring this season, so be sure to jot down your favorites.

Top Gun Cruise-In and Car Show

Starting April 9 in Grand Rivers, Kentucky, the popular Top Gun Cruise-In is the state’s premier auto show that always draws a loyal crowd. This free event will also occur in Mayfield on April 16, with each event offering door prizes, concerts, and vendors.

These shows continue throughout the spring and summer.  The show in Hopkinsville on August 16 kicks off with a cruise in on Friday night and a competition Saturday morning. Winners announced in the Top Gun Car Show will go home with collector dash plaques and trophies, making these exciting events not to be missed.

Cooks for Kids

The 7th annual Cooks for Kids car show will take place in Harned on April 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The first 50 drivers to register will receive free dash plaques. Trophies will also be awarded for best in show, best paint job, best interior, best engine, and Best Chevy, so be sure to spruce up your ride for a chance at some well-deserved recognition.

In addition to the car show, the event will feature craft booths. Proceeds from the event will go to the Breckinridge County Schools Cooks for Kids scholarship fund.

Frankfort Mustangs Club Pony Car Round-Up

Also on April 23 is the 11th annual Frankfort Mustangs Club Pony Car Round-Up. This Frankfort favorite is a free event for classic sports and muscle cars that simply can’t be missed. While the name may suggest only Mustangs are on display (and you will see nearly every model that’s been made since 1964), in fact, all cars are welcome at this unique cruise-in. Families will also enjoy the games, cake walks, and live music, so stop by, join the club, and make some lasting friendships.

Uprising Car and Truck Show

The 4th annual Uprising Car and Truck Show is scheduled for April 30 through May 1 in Maysville. Admission is $10 and all proceeds go to the Women’s Crisis Center. Registration begins at 9 a.m. opening day and the judging is at noon, but there will be plenty of food, activities, and fun for the whole family all day. The event welcomes sports cars, classic autos, muscle cars, exotics, low riders, trucks, and sport compacts.

Indoor Charity Car and Motorcycle Show

Whether you’re a car or motorcycle enthusiast, the Open Car and Motorcycle Show at the Paducah Expo Center on May 14 is for you. The event will feature ten judged classes for cars and three for bikes. There will also be a number of children’s activities, including make-and-take models and coloring pages.

Mark your calendars because Kentucky is brimming with auto events this season. Plan a day trip to your favorite auto show and enjoy spending quality time with the family.
