Exclusively Paris : The Paris Pops Company
Like most small towns, there are many hidden gems and places to visit in the picturesque city of Paris, KY. As you drive down one-way Main St. you will see historical buildings that have been home to many different businesses and families throughout the years. There’s also a pretty good chance you’ll get several waves and head nods from the welcoming locals. Pull off to the right to make a stop at Pleasanton Goods for some local shopping. While you are there you can also try one of our favorite year-round treats, The Paris Pops Co. popsicles!
Paris Pops is a gourmet popsicle company that focuses on providing all-natural craft popsicles made with locally sourced ingredients. With vegan, gluten-free, low-sugar, and dairy-free varieties available this truly is a treat that anyone and everyone can enjoy.
Glenn Lundy and our marketing team recently got to hang out with The Paris Pops Company owner, Megan Shaw, and her son, Beckett, for an afternoon. It was a great opportunity to learn more about the popsicle business, get a first-hand look at how the pops are made, and of course do some taste testing.
Megan, who is an interior designer by day, also serves on the Bourbon County Farmers Market board. Realizing just how many wonderful local products are available, she wanted a way to combine them all to showcase the best flavors of Bourbon County. She got to work, and The Paris Pops Company was born.
It was amazing to see just how passionate Megan is about her products and the ingredients that go into them. She handpicks each fruit and/or vegetable used in her pops from several different local farms such as Bramble Cane Farm and Reed Valley Orchard. Sometimes Megan’s son, Beckett, even gets to help.
Megan isn’t just passionate about providing popsicles that are all natural and good for us to eat. She also wanted to ensure that the pops are packed in environmentally friendly products, which is why everything down to the stick is bio-degradable.
Outside of Pleasanton Goods, these pops can also be purchased just around the corner at the Bourbon County Farmers Market.
Some of the flavors include: orange creamsicle, strawberry lemonade, carrot cake, coffee and cream, spiced apple cider, and SO many more! If you’re of legal drinking age you can also enjoy Paris Pops Co. with a twist – poptails, made with locally sourced bourbon from Hartfield & Company. Which are you going to try first?!
