Lexington Chevrolet
With a long history of serving Lexington Chevrolet buyers, Dan Cummins Chevrolet has made a reputation for itself as the dealership to visit for honest pricing and incredible service.
Now in its third generation of family ownership, the original Cummins dealership was started way back in 1956 by Sam Cummins. His son Dan took over operations in the 1970s and renamed the store “Dan Cummins Chevrolet” in the 1990s. And when the time was right, Dan’s son Josh Cummins purchased the dealership in 2010.
And with each generation, the dealership has been improved and seen incredible growth. Josh and his incredible staff have helped Dan Cummins grow from a small-market dealership outside of Lexington to one of the highest volume used car dealers in the entire country, and #1 in Kentucky as of May 2015.
Through that growth, however, the dealership has never lost its roots as a dealership that prides itself on quality service and making connections that last a lifetime. We’re happy to be in the Chevy business, and below we’ll share why we think you should choose it for your next new car purchase:
Nothing Beats A Chevy
Reliable Trucks
The Cummins family has fond memories of riding around town, to outings and baseball games, with the kids in the back of the family pickup truck. It was always Chevy, and it was always dependable.
We bring that same school of thought to our business here at the dealership. Pickup trucks are not only a part of American history, but a part of daily life here in the Lexington area. People count on them to do tough jobs, and need to be able to rely on them day in and day out.
That’s why we’re so proud to sell Chevy trucks, as it feels like we’re selling more than just a vehicle that gets someone from point a to b on a daily basis. It feels like we’re selling something that will change your life.
And it’s not just the Cummins family experience with Chevy trucks that makes us so confident in their reliability, it’s the proven facts. In J.D. Power’s 2015 Vehicle Dependability Study, three out of the eight vehicles featured on its “Most Dependable Trucks” list were Chevy vehicles: 2012 Avalanche, 2012 Silverado 1500, and the 2012 Silverado 2500HD/3500HD.
Economical and Hybrid Cars
While Chevy trucks are a big part of the Dan Cummins business, Chevrolet as a brand features a wide array of other vehicles for everyday buyers, including economical cars. These range from extremely affordable compacts, such as the Spark and Sonic, to segment standouts, like the Cruze, Malibu, and Impala.
With recent redesigns on all models, Chevy not only has one of the largest line-ups of hatchbacks and sedans, but the best looking and most innovative line-up of any manufacturer.
Here’s a quick look at a few of the standouts for the 2016 model year:
2016 Chevy Cruze
With a beautiful new design on the outside and all new technology on the inside, the 2016 Chevy Cruze makes for one of the most impressive compact sedans available. Featuring a standard 1.4-liter turbocharged engine, the Cruze’s good looks also accompany incredible efficieny that reaches up to 40 mpg on the highway. Not only do you get the extra blast of power from the Cruze’s turbocharger, but you don’t have to sacrifice efficiency to get it.
All in all, the 2016 Cruze is ready to make a big splash with Lexington, KY Chevrolet buyers!
2016 Chevy Malibu
When looking to update the Malibu for the 2016 model year, Chevy didn’t just want to give it a typical refresh. They wanted to go above and beyond what the competition had accomplished to make the absolute best mid-size sedan you could buy. And the results are pretty impressive.
Featuring a sleek new design that rivals many premium and luxury brands, the 2016 Malibu ha also picked up a hybrid model that’s able to achieve 48 mpg on the highway, compared to the still-impressive 37 mpg from the base model.
The biggest area that the 2016 Malibu improves upon is driver safety. Featuring lane keep assist, rear cross traffic alert, and forward collision alert, it also features a driving mode that allows parents to control and monitor how their children drive. This “Teen Driver” mode allows parents to warn the driver when they reach or travel over a specific speed, and can even mute in-car audio when seat belts are not properly applied.
With the 2016 Malibu, Chevy is calling out other mid-size car makers to step up their game or be left behind.
2016 Chevy Volt
It wasn’t enough that Chevy completely revamped the idea of the compact and mid-size sedan with the 2016 model year, they also had to take on their plug-in electric hybrid, the Volt.
The first issue Chevy tackled was range. The current 2015 Volt is able to travel 38 miles on zero-emissions electric power before the gas-powered engine revs up and takes control. The brand new Volt, which will be available at Lexington Chevrolet dealers later this year, greatly improves on that with a range of 53 all-electric miles.
The 2016 Volt is truly the best of the electric car, and the best of the gasoline-powered car. Drivers can use the electric power during a short commute or running errands, yet rely on the backup engine for longer trips. Why compromise when you can have the best of both worlds?
Capable SUVs
Much like Chevy’s trucks, families rely on the power and capabilities of the brand’s SUV line-up to get things done in day-to-day life, have fun, and get away for the weekend. From the small and efficient Trax to the large-and-in-charge Suburban, Chevrolet has built the ultimate range of SUVs to fit any and every need.
Much like its line-up of cars, there’s an SUV for everyone. The previously mentioned Trax makes a perfect commuter car that’s able to do more than your standard sedan or hatchback, while the larger offerings like the Tahoe and Suburban will meet the needs of safety-conscious families that not only need the extra space and comfort, but peace of mind.
If you’re in the market for an SUV, of any shape or size, come get a Dan Cummins deal at our Lexington Chevrolet dealership.
