How to Buy a Car With Bad Credit and No Down Payment

Do you know that even with a bad credit score, you can still own your dream vehicle? When it comes to credit history, the impact it has on whether you will get your loan approved for your car or the interest you will incur when you make your car purchase is seen. Your credit history is a signal to lenders whether you can be trusted for a loan or not – a credit history and score has that power. However, bad credit should not be a barrier from getting your dream vehicle either by loan or by purchase. So, what tips or methods are there to allow you to purchase your dream car with ease even on bad credit? Let’s get started! How to Buy a Car With Bad Credit and $0 Down Get in Tune With Current Interest Rates Even with a bad credit score, nothing can stop you from getting informed on current vehicle loan rates. Doing your research makes it easy to know what to expect with your credit score. With a good credit score, it's much easier to get a good interest rate on a car loan. Unfortunately, this is not the case with a bad credit score. The lower your score, the higher your interest rate will be. It can even increase your interest rate by up to 50%! The price tag on your car, as well as the monthly interest rate on your vehicle, is affected by your credit score. So, the best thing to do in this situation to avoid an overcharge – because some lenders and dealers do so - is to know what is obtainable and make your bargains on that. Work on Your Credit One of the best advice you may receive is to work on your credit score. A bad credit score lowers your chances of buying a car on easier terms, so the best thing to do is plan ahead and work hard on improving your score before buying or loaning a car. A few things you can do are: Report and properly handle credit report errors Pay past due accounts Lower your credit utilization to no more than 30% Those strategies could go a long way in getting you better terms when you finally want to make your car purchase. Buy Only What You Can Afford This may seem obvious already, but a lot of us (even those with bad credit) still go for expensive cars. Going for an expensive car with a bad credit score does not play well for your credit report. Take a moment to look at your budget. What do you have left over when you pay your bills each month? That may give you a better picture of what you can afford. Check what car you can afford on your budget and keep to that no matter which flashy car catches your eye. Be Careful About Your Deals In simple words, watch out for scams and fraud. You might be surprised that persons with a low credit score are usually the most targeted for scams. While it is fun to buy a car, don't let yourself get swept up in all the excitement - stay focused and aware and don't fall prey to the tactics of scammers. You can "cross your Ts and dot your Is" by thoroughly perusing paperwork for loans that you are offered, especially ones that sound too good to be true. 2017 Buick LaCrosse Lexington, KY

Cool Interior Features of the 2017 LaCrosse

The Buick LaCrosse sedan was redesigned for 2017 and gained higher-quality cabin materials, more trunk space, improved ride quality, and new features. In particular, several interior features added for this year have made the LaCrosse a top model in its class. Here are some of the best new and returning interior features available on LaCrosse models. more Active Noise Cancellation The Active Noise Cancellation system added to the LaCrosse helps keep the driving experience quieter than ever before. Designed to work in tandem with soundproofing, ANC detects undesirable sounds such as heavy rainfall and cancels them out with the vehicle's speaker system. It essentially uses the wave energy of the sound system to channel outward waves that push any unwanted incoming sound waves away. Now not only can a Buick wall off unwanted noises, but it can push them away for even greater efficacy. New Center Console For those who don't use voice commands, Buick has improved the center console in the 2017 LaCrosse. Buttons are large and spread out along the same width as the eight-inch Intellilink infotainment touchscreen, and it leans backward to create a bit more of an open feel. Unlike many systems from the competition, everything is truly centered, from the mid-point dial to the sunken area for the two USB ports. Controlling the Lacrosse's eight-speaker sound system, mobile phone apps, and other infotainment or audio functions are easier in ways that a discerning driver will appreciate. Heated Steering Wheel In cold weather, tire traction drops and driving becomes riskier. This is only made worse when the driver has cold, tense hands, but all 2017 LaCrosse models offer an available heating function for the steering wheel, which not only gives you the proper comfort and control during the winter but also feels terrific. On the topic of the steering wheel options, moving up to the middle Preferred trim level automatically adds power-adjustment, so you can change the position and tilt of the wheel to whatever seating style you want that day. 4G Wi-Fi Hotspot On top of the advanced infotainment system, the LaCrosse can be upgraded with 4G Wi-Fi hotspot capability. Far stronger than the hotspots in lesser vehicles, the LaCrosse is capable of supporting a network of up to seven active devices at once. This feature has the reliability and signal strength to make the LaCrosse a swanky mobile office. Even if you don't use your vehicle for business, there's a sense of freedom when every passenger can look up what they need to independently. These are only a few of the model's top features and options, and there are three different trim levels of this large luxury sedan to consider. From a configurable head-up-display to a seat-vibrator that alerts the driver if they're veering out of a lane, the LaCrosse is as well-equipped as it is fun to drive. 2018 Buick Regal Paris, KY

A Look at the 2018 Buick Regal

The Buick Regal is coming back to the United States next year with several enticing changes and upgrades. Since the model is already out internationally, we know exactly what to expect when the Regal hits our shores. Take a look at what's new with the upcoming model. more Bodies and Exterior The 2018 Buick Regal has dropped its sedan model. In what seems to be a shift toward practicality mixed with luxury, the Regal will come in two forms: a five-door hatchback called the Sportback, and an extended all-wheel-drive wagon called the TourX. There will be three trim levels: the base, Preferred, and Essence. Each will add more interior features and exterior standard highlights. Designed in Germany, the Regal has had a lot more athletic lines sculpted into its sides and other parts of the body. The 2018 version looks crisper, not as ineffectually rounded as the 2017 version while still nicely balanced. The wheelbase is three inches longer, and this change is most apparent in the TourX. The changes aren't just for visual appeal, either, as they cut the vehicle's weight by 200 pounds to improve efficiency and handling. Performance Both models use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 250 horsepower and fuel-saving automatic start/stop functionality. In front-wheel drive it has 260 pound-feet of torque, while all-wheel-drive bumps it to 295 pound-feet. The Sportback is engaging in either front-wheel drive or the available dual-clutch all-wheel drive system, while the TourX has deeply car-like mechanics as well despite its long body. Fuel efficiency testing is not completed, but Buick notes the changes should be more than enough to improve ratings over the 2017 sedan. Technology and Interior The expanded wheelbase allows for that much more room in the second row, and the front was equally changed with cleaner lines and an overall simpler look. There is also more soundproofing, which reduces the cabin noise from engine revving, rain, and other sources of clamor. Buick IntelliLink infotainment with a 7-inch infotainment screen and OnStar telematics with a Wi-Fi hotspot are all standard. Sportback Regal models will have 31.5 cubic feet of cargo space at the least, which expands to 60.7 cubic feet with the large rear seats folded down. The TourX is similar, with 32.7 cubic feet that expand to 73.5 cubic feet with the rear seats down. The TourX also comes with a hands-free power liftgate. Safety The 2018 Regal will have ten air bags, a backup camera, and the emergency services included with OnStar standard, plus a new active hood pedestrian-detecting system. Drivers can opt for the Driver Confidence I and II packages for rear park assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warnings, adaptive cruise control, and other up-to-date automatic driver aids. Buick describes this 2018 Regal as "Attainable Luxur." It is expected to hit dealerships all over the United States late in 2017, which could make it a great holiday gift to yourself or someone who has wanted a new, top-quality vehicle. When that time comes, be sure to contact us and we'll be happy to get you the model you want and the best deal possible.

2017 Buick Enclave Lexington, KY

3 Top Reasons to Consider a 2017 Buick Enclave

Shopping for a new vehicle can cause a lot of stress because many buyers don't know what models match their needs. With so many SUVs on the market, it's difficult to choose the perfect option for your family. Before you buy anything, consider these top three reasons for owning a 2017 Buick Enclave. more You Need a Lot of Space for Passengers and Cargo The 2017 Buick Enclave has a lot of cabin space that makes it possible to seat up to eight passengers. With more than 150 cubic inches of passenger space, you can fill every seat without making anyone uncomfortable. The third row of seats offers the least volume, so you should put your smallest passengers there. Even most teenagers, however, will feel happy in the back. You will also find more than enough cargo space behind the third row of seats. You get so much room that you can easily haul groceries and sports equipment at the same time. If you enjoy road trips and camping, then the 2017 Enclave is one of the best SUVs for you. No matter how much camping gear you stow in the back, it feels like you never run out of room. You Demand Excellent Safety Features Buick loads the 2017 Enclave with features that will keep you and your passengers safe. Standard features include antilock brakes, traction control, stability control, rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera. If you upgrade to the Leather or Premium trims, you also get a blind-spot warning system and rear cross traffic alert to help you avoid collisions. Unfortunately, sometimes accidents happen. The Enclave keeps your passengers safe with side curtain airbags and front seat side airbags. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration agrees that the Enclave offers terrific safety features. The organization awards the 2017 SUV its highest rating in overall safety, frontal crash protection, and side crash protection. According to the experts, you can't find an SUV that's much safer than the Enclave. You Want to Spend a Reasonable Amount of Money Large SUVs can cost a lot of money. Buick gives you three trim levels so you can choose the option that fits into your budget. The entry-level Convenience version starts at $39,065. That's a great price for an SUV that comes with a 3.6-liter V6 engine, tri-zone automatic climate control, 19-inch alloy wheels, and an eight-way power driver seat. The Leather trim level starts at $43,765. By paying a little more, you get leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. The Premium trim starts at $47,625. If that sounds a little pricey, consider that you get 19-inch chrome-clad alloy wheels, ventilated front seats, a navigation system, and a 10-speaker Bose sound system. If you want a spacious SUV with excellent safety features at a reasonable price, then the 2017 Buick Enclave will probably work for you. Contact your Buick dealership to schedule a test drive. Once you experience the Enclave, you will know whether you want to add it to your family.

A New Buick Regal? That's the Word on the Street

The next Buick Regal has been spotted, and anticipation in the automotive world has never been higher. European versions of the 2018 Regal sedan and wagon have been spotted under the name Opel Insignia, but word on the street is this sleek, sultry-looking vehicle is, in fact, the next Regal — and we couldn't be happier! more The General Motor's Opel Insignia Connection In European countries, GM offers its midsize Opel Insignia in sedan, wagon, and hatchback body styles. Americans better know the GM Opel Insignia as the Buick Regal, so naturally, any news of the Regal's European counterpart provides a glimpse into its future stateside. The next-generation Insignia was spotted in Los Angeles at the end of last year. The undisguised photos have given reviewers and automotive writers the chance to speculate about the new Regal, which should arrive later this year in the form of a 2018 model. The Next-gen Regal is Hot! If the new Insignia is any indication (and it is!), the next-generation Buick Regal boasts an athletic stance with crisp, clean lines. More than that, it will also be offered in a wagon body style, which arguably looks even more impressive than the sedan. Trademark filings have indicated the name "Regal TourX" is a likely title for the U.S. version of the Regal wagon, although this will be revealed in due time. The name may be indicative of a crossover-inspired body variant. Given what we know about the Insignia, the 2018 Regal will have a longer wheelbase and a lower roofline to reduce drag, boosting its performance as well as its aesthetics. According to photographs, the sedan will likely come standard with front-wheel drive as well as a high-performance option with chassis upgrades and more power. If Buick follows Regal tradition, the more athletic version of the sedan should become the 2018 Regal GS. A More Premium Image The most exciting aspect of the new Buick Regal is in its styling. A longer roof on the wagon body style cultivates what reviewers are calling an "Eurocentric premium image," which falls in line with premium-quality European automobiles such as Audi, BMW, and Volvo. This could catapult Buick's reputation in the U.S. as the luxury vehicle to own next year. In fact, according to General Motors, the new Insignia is over 380 pounds lighter than its predecessor, even though it's grown in width, length, and interior volume. This weight loss is good news for the new Buick Regal's fuel economy, which will undoubtedly surpass the former generation's capabilities. The Opel Insignia spotted in Los Angeles in December 2016 looked close to production-ready, meaning it should be making its debut at the 87th Geneva International Motor Show this month. That means the Regal itself won't be too far behind, and it could be officially announced in summer 2017. Only time will tell us the specifics about the 2018 Buick Regal, and you can bet we'll be watching the automotive world over the next few weeks for any news. Would you drive the new Regal sedan or wagon?

Buick Named Third Most Reliable by Consumer Reports - Here's Why

Consumer Reports has conducted reliability reports for 35 years, and no American brand has cracked the top three — until now. The newest report ranks Buick as the third most reliable brand out of 29 car brands. Surprised? Keep reading to find out how this happened. more How the Report Works First, let's look at the ranking system to see how it works. Consumer Reports collects data from magazine and website subscribers. They're asked to report any serious problems they have had with their vehicle in the past 12 months. The questionnaire lists 17 problem areas, such as audio system, brakes, and suspension. Four areas are weighted more heavily than others: major engine problems, major transmission problems, and issues with the cooling system and driveline. The overall reliability of a brand is determined by calculating and examining the results for each model. If a brand has a small model lineup, slight changes in just one model can significantly raise or lower the overall ranking for that brand. How Buick Placed Third While detailed results of the survey are only available to Consumer Reports subscribers, it's easy to deduce what happened. Buick models have been around for a while, so most of the kinks have been smoothed out. The Buick Regal was first introduced in 1973, retired in 2004, then came back in 2011. The LaCrosse was first introduced in 2004 and then redesigned in 2010. The Verano (2012) and the Encore (2013) are a bit newer, but overall, there is nothing shockingly new to the Buick model lineup that could impair performance. By contrast, newer models and redesigned models generally have issues. Tesla is a great example. The older Tesla Model S performs well, but the new Model X has so many problems that Tesla ended up with the fifth worst ranking. The Honda Civic sedan also scored worse than average this year because of its problems with the infotainment system, pulling down Honda's overall rank. Big risks can be rewarding, but sometimes they backfire. How J.D. Power Ranks the Buick Consumer Reports isn't the only agency to speak highly of Buick; the latest J.D. Power U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study has similar results. Buick ranks third out of 32 nameplates, scoring above average in all three dependability categories: powertrain, body and interior, and features and accessories. According to the company, most vehicles have problems with the navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity, and the voice recognition system. Buick doesn't have that problem; its high score in the features and accessories category is better than half of the other nameplates. Simply having reliable audio and communication technology helps Buick to achieve a high rating. J.D. Power also ranked vehicle dependability by category. Buick received awards for the 2013 Buick Encore, 2013 Buick Verano, and 2013 Buick LaCrosse. The Buick is a bit like the tortoise racing against the hare. While other companies are quick to introduce new and exciting vehicles — taking risks that may backfire — the Buick has older models that it upgrades each year, fixing issues as they arise, slowly but surely building them up to perfection. Just like the tortoise, Buick surprised everyone and proved that it shouldn't be underestimated.

6 Impressive Features of the 2017 Buick Envision

The 2017 Buick Envision brings more to the table this year thanks to the newest technology and safety features. Here are six of the most impressive features that you can expect to find. more Top Safety Pick When equipped with optional front-crash prevention, the 2017 Buick Envision is rated a "Top Safety Pick+" by the IIHS. Standard features include Rear Park Assist, a tire pressure monitor, and 10 air bags. The rearview camera turns on automatically when you're in reverse, making it easier to back into parking spaces, while a stability control system helps to keep you on course during wet and slippery road conditions. Quiet Tuning Each model comes with sound absorption technology that makes for a pleasantly quiet ride. Acoustic-laminated glass windows and windshield help to block exterior noise. The doors have inner sound barriers, and the engine noise is blocked by hydraulic engine mounts and a sound-absorbing dash mat. Now it's easy to talk to your passengers or listen to music without any distracting background noise. Auto Start Stop Technology This technology used to only be available with hybrid models, but now it's available with gasoline engines too. It helps reduce fuel consumption by shutting off the engine when you hit the brakes and starting again once your foot is off the pedal. If you do a lot of city driving, this feature could really help you to cut your fuel costs. Buick IntelliLink This feature allows you to multitask without taking your eyes off the road. The voice control system has natural language voice recognition, making communication so much easier than before. You can ask it to play music and make phone calls for you. If you equip the available Navigation feature, you also get access to driving directions and traffic information. You'll never need to fumble with a paper map again. 4G Wi-Fi The 4G Wi-Fi Hotspot is available for all models and can support up to seven devices at a time. It comes in handy if you're out with friends and need to check movie times or search for a nearby restaurant. Going on a family road trip? Then your children will enjoy streaming movies and TV shows on their tablets or laptops. If you forgot your favorite music at home, you can quickly download whatever you need. Teen Driver Mode This is something that will annoy teenagers everywhere, but give parents the peace of mind they need. The last thing you want is for your newest driver to get in an accident. A special key fob activates it when your child borrows the car, automatically turning on all the safety features and preventing her from turning them off. It won't let him blast any music until the front seat passengers have buckled up and, best of all, it keeps track of your teen's driving progress. You can read the report afterward to see things like the maximum speed traveled and the amount of distance driven. It's a smart, safe feature that is long overdue. The 2017 Buick Envision has great new technology features that make the drive more safe and comfortable for everyone. If you're in the market for a new vehicle, this might be just what you're looking for.

4 Buick Vehicles Made for Families

When buying the ideal vehicle for your family, safety features and ratings are probably high priorities. However, don't let those be the only qualifications. A great family vehicle should entertain passengers of all ages and have convenience features that improve the driver's ability to focus on the road, all at a reasonable price. Fortunately, this means that several Buicks make excellent family vehicles, and we've collected a brief list of the top contenders. more 2016 Enclave Buick's super-safe three-row crossover can seat either seven or eight, and includes plenty of comfort features that add to its value. The base model includes three-zone climate control and the rear-view camera comes with park assist. The park assist alerts drivers by beeping when the driver gets too close to objects. Strong LED headlights are also standard to improve the driver's vision. A 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot allows the Enclave to maintain a connection for multiple devices, which makes it easy to watch videos, double-check on road trip plans, and more. 2016 Verano If three rows are too many, the mid-sized Verano has plenty of leg room in the front and back, perfect for smaller families with older children. The cargo space is a solid 14.3 cubic feet, competitive in its class. The interior is heavily soundproofed, making it easier to have a chat or play the radio without disruptions from outside. Best of all, the Verano features the 1SV as its base trim level, more affordable than the "base" level, which is now the second from the lowest. The Verano's powertrain at base is well-mannered and focused on secure handling rather than thrills. 2015 Verano If you want an especially affordable Buick vehicle, look no further than the 2015 Verano 1SV. The extra-affordable 1SV trim level was added in 2015, applying to multiple models. With the Verano as the most affordable vehicle in the Buick lineup, this means you get a recent model with a remarkably low starting price compared with similar Verano models from 2014, and with new features. The 2.4-liter inline-4 on the 1SV is the same engine as on all other trim levels but the Premium Turbo Group, offering 180 horsepower just like the 2016 model. 2015 Regal While the mid-sized, AWD Regal has always been slightly more than the Verano in starting MSRP, much of the difference comes from engines that pay off in the long run. The 2015 Regal's base fuel economy is 19/31 city/highway miles per gallon. For drivers truly focused on saving fuel, the optional eAssist light hybrid Regal is nearly the same price, but bumps the fuel economy to 25/36 city/highway mpg. As you can see, we organized these vehicles mainly by starting price, but a close look reveals them all to be a good deal. It depends what your family needs, and you don't have to make sacrifices. With Buick you get it all, so feel free to contact or visit us if you'd like to test drive models or learn more. We at Dan Cummings Chevrolet Buick would be proud to provide your ideal family vehicle, all at a good price and with no hassle.
