2022 Ram Lineup

With the extreme power, capability, and functionality that comes with a Ram truck, it’s no surprise Ram has won MotorTrend’s Truck of the Year award six times since becoming a standalone brand 12 years ago. Whether you need a truck to o off-roading or to tow a heavy trailer – Ram has you covered. But, with so many trucks in the 2022 lineup, how can you choose which truck would be best for your needs? Keep reading to find out.

Ram 1500 TRX

If you’re looking for a truck with supercharged power and a luxurious interior, look no further. The Ram 1500 TRX has a supercharged 6.2L Hemi V8 engine, capable of up to 702 hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. It goes from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, making it the quickest, fastest, and the most powerful pickup truck in the world.[1] This is thanks to the twin-screw supercharger, which gives the TRX near-instantaneous torque.

Off-Roading Potential

The TRX isn’t only powerful on the road. The 35 inch tires, reinforced steel frame Bilstein Block Hawk e2 system, electronic-locking rear differential, and 15 inch brakes work together to make the Ram TRX the perfect off-roading vehicle. It gets 11.8 inches of ground clearance, 13 inches of front suspension travel, and 14 inches of rear suspension travel – helping you to navigate any type of terrain. If you love going off-roading in the Kentucky countryside, the TRX is the truck for you.

Menacing Exterior

The exterior of the TRX has an extra eight inches of exterior width from the normal Ram 1500 and 35 inch tires, giving it a powerful stance on the road. The hood scoop features LED amber identification lamps, a custom look that sets you apart on Lexington streets. The RAM badge on the grille is a multi-functional feature. Not only does it look menacing on the road, but it also helps to provide up to 32.9 liters of air to the engine every minute.

Luxurious Interior Features

The top-of-the-line features don’t stop there. In the interior, there are luxurious features everywhere you look. The available performance-focused materials, including refined leather, brushed metal, and Alcantara suede, give the truck a luxurious and sporty look. It also has a sporty flat-bottom steering wheel, which boasts integrated aluminum shift paddles and available carbon fiber and Alcantara suede accents.

The new high-definition 12.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system has a suite of performance and off-road pages, a completely customizable home screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, built-in navigation, and Sirius XM radio. If you love listening to your music through top-tier speakers, you have the option to upgrade to the 900-watt, 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.

New Sandblast Edition

New for 2022 is the Ram 1500 TRX Sandblast Edition, which offers an exclusive exterior color: the Mojave Sand clear coat, complemented by the black grille and front fascia. It has light frost interior accents on the interior and exterior, plus bold 18 inch black bead lock capable aluminum wheels. The truck bed features wide fenders, a Mopar deployable bed step, and a spray-in bedliner. The special edition is marked by a badge of power on the suede center console, with light frost accent stitching.

The Ram 1500

The Ram 1500 was voted J.D. Power’s most appealing large light duty pickup, and for good reason. You can choose from a variety of engines, but all Ram 1500s have one thing in common – they are powerful and capable of almost anything.

Engine Options

You can choose between five different engines for the Ram 1500. The engines, and their specs, are:

  • Supercharged 6.2L Hemi V8 Engine: This is the most powerful factory installed engine ever in a half ton truck, going 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds. It is capable of up to 702 hp, with 650 lb.-ft. of torque.
  • 7L Hemi Engine with eTorque Mild Hybrid Technology System: This engine has a 12,750 towing capacity, capability of up to 395 hp, and has 410 lb.-ft. of torque.
  • 7L Hemi V8 Engine: With up to 395 hp and 410 lb.-ft. of torque, this engine can tow up to 11,610 lbs.
  • 6L Pentastar V6 Engine with eTorque: This engine uses advanced technology to deliver 305 hp, 269 lb.-ft. of torque, and a 7,730 lb. towing capacity.
  • 0L EcoDiesel V6: This engine achieves best-in-class 480 lb.-ft. of torque. It is capable of 260 hp and has a 12,560 lb. towing capacity.

The 98% high-strength steel frame assists the Ram 1500 with stiffness and durability. This frame, in tandem with the engine you choose, allows the Ram 1500 to tow whatever you need on your next adventure.

Striking Exterior

The exterior of the Ram 1500 has power fold trailer tow mirrors that flip out to give visibility around whatever you are towing and help you park in tight spaces. The LED headlamps, sculpted hood, and elaborate grille let you stand out on Lexington and Louisville streets. If you need help getting in and out of the truck, there are available power slide running boards that deploy automatically when a door opens or closes.

The multifunction tailgate, engineered with 60/40 split swing away doors, helps you to enter the truck bed whenever you need. It has a tailgate down strength of up to 2,000 lbs., so you can sit anything you need on it without worry. You can open/close the tailgate with the press of a button, thanks to the power-release tailgate with key fob control.

The class exclusive available RamBox cargo management system gives you more versatile storage. You can pack it with ice, equipment, tools, and more. It is lockable, weatherproof, and drainable. It even comes with a 115-volt auxiliary outlet so you can plug in whatever tool you are using.

Deluxe, Comfortable Interior

The Ram 1500 is the most luxurious truck in its class. It features an available reconfigurable Head-Up display, which shows incoming calls, navigation, and more, in a digital view on your windshield. There is a digital rearview mirror available that displays a video from a rear-facing camera when on, preventing you from having blind spots.

The Ram 1500 has a plethora of technology, including an unsurpassed-in-class 12 inch touchscreen that is fully customizable. It has updated user interfaces, tow-specific navigation, and multiple infotainment/connected services updates. The truck has frame-mounted active-tuned mass modules and an available interior active noise cancellation system to help you tune out the workday or tune into your favorite songs. The driver information center is seven inches, making the vehicle stats easy to see. A new air filtration system comes standard – filtering 95% of air particulates, including smoke, droplets, and aerosols.

With all the power that comes with a Ram 1500, you shouldn’t have to sacrifice comfort. Nobody wants to ride in a truck where you must sit cramped up to fit. This won’t be a problem on the Ram 1500. You and your passengers will stay comfortable, with a best-in-class 45.2 inches of rear legroom and 40.9 inches of front row legroom. The rear seats also get a class-exclusive eight varying degrees of rear seat recline.

There is a ton of available cargo room, including upper and lower glove compartments, class exclusive available in-floor storage, door pocket storage with LED lights, and a center console big enough to store a 15 inch laptop and a bin for hanging file folders.

With all these features, you are guaranteed to be comfortable in your Ram 1500.

Features to Keep You Safe

It seems like the reasons to buy a Ram 1500 are never-ending. Not only can you tow all your belongings, go fast, and be comfortable, but you will also be safe. Due to jam-packed suite of safety features, driving the Ram 1500 is stress free.

To start, The Ram 1500 has electronic stability control and electronic roll mitigation, which applies brakes to the appropriate wheel and reduces engine power to keep you on the road. The largest-in-class 14.9 inch standard brakes help you to come to a stop safely and securely, even in bad conditions. Additional available safety features include:

  • LaneSense lane departure warning with lane-keep assists
  • 360 Surround View camera
  • Rear cross path and trailer detection
  • Blind spot monitoring
  • Parallel and perpendicular park assist
  • Pedestrian emergency braking

Six airbags are standard. The front airbags have adaptive venting technology, which reacts to the truck’s occupant size and the severity of the crash. There are also several digital safety and security measures, with alerts in the driver information cluster, trailer light checks, and tire pressure monitoring.

Ram 1500 Classic

When Ram redesigned its 1500 in 2019, it kept the previous generation in the lineup, renaming it the Ram 1500 Classic. The Classic model is comfortable, safe, and has impressive horsepower – all for a budget-friendly price tag.

Powerful Performance

The 1500 Classic comes with a choice between two engines. The first is a 5.7L Hemi V8 engine, which gets 395 hp, 410 lb.-ft. of torque, and a maximum payload of 1,810 lbs. You can easily tow your boat to a nearby Kentucky lake, with the 10,620 lb. maximum towing capacity.

The 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine is the second option, capable of 305 hp and 269 lb.-ft. of torque. It features variable valve timing, offering a thermal management system for optimized performance.

The Ram 1500 Classic makes it easy for you to tow whatever you need, with electronic stability control, trailer sway control, integrated trailer tow wiring, and an available Class IV hitch receiver. The drag reducing active grill shutters adapt to speed, load, and engine needs to offer ideal engine cooling, while also helping with drag. The frame is strategically made from down-gauged steel where heavy steel isn’t required, helping the Ram to have the best efficiency and weight management. If you want a smooth ride, the five-link coil spring rear suspension helps to deliver a smooth ride, without you having to sacrifice the towing capacity you need. The tonneau cover helps to move air over the truck, helping fight against drag.

Classic Exterior with Modern Upgrades

The exterior of the Ram 1500 Classic is functional and stylish. Access to the truck bed is made easy, with available wheel-to-wheel side steps and locking/unlocking with the push of a button. Your bed will be protected from whatever cargo you need to carry thanks to the available under-rail bedliner and tonneau cover. And you’ll be able to find what you need in the bed with available LED lights.

Comfortable Interior

The Ram 1500 Classic comes with a Uconnect 4C infotainment system, with an 8.4 inch touchscreen and an available 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. USB ports and a 115-volt auxiliary power outlet will be sure to keep your devices powered. You can also store all your belongings, with the Ram Bin storage in the floor and under the seats, easy access upper and lower locking glove compartments, and a full-length floor console.

Plethora of Safety Features

The Ram 1500 Classic will keep you safe, no matter the situation. It has electronic stability control, hill start assists, trailer sway control, a ParkSense rear park assist system, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The Sirius XM Guardian system, if activated, will give you theft alarm notifications and functions as a hub for the cameras.

The Ram comes with a wireless key fob, which functions as a keyless push-to-start, remote vehicle start, AllSecure Central Locking system, and a panic button. The four wheel disc antilock brakes, with large braking components, help to prevent wheel lockup when you must brake on a slippery surface.

The Ram 1500 Classic also has six airbags, supplemental side curtain airbags, door beams, crumple zones, and a high-strength steel frame rated at 50,000 psi.

If you need a dependable truck, that will also keep you safe, the Ram 1500 Classic would be a great choice for you.
