Do you ever watch a movie just because it has a cool car in it? If so, then you should try watching (or rewatching!) at least one of the following movies. more Transformers (2007) Robots from outer space battle it out on Earth in this hugely popular action movie. Much of the humor comes from Bumblebee, an Autobot that comes to the planet Earth in search of the powerful AllSpark. He tracks it down and disguises himself as a 1977 Chevrolet Camaro. He resembles his name with his yellow body and two black racing stripes. He is sensitive about his looks, which is apparent when Mikaela calls him a piece of crap. Bumblebee abruptly stops in the middle of the road, dumps them out, and turns himself into a sleek 2009 Chevrolet Camaro. That is one stylish Camaro with a ton of personality! Better Off Dead (1985) This romantic comedy film stars John Cusack, who plays teenager Lane Myer. It seems like everything is going wrong for Lane, especially when his girlfriend dumps him for a more popular guy. It probably wouldn't be so bad if her new boyfriend didn't rub it in his face. Not knowing how to deal with it, Lane decides he'd be better off dead. Drama ensues and, eventually, things get better for him. This is partly due to the new girl he meets, and partly due to his new ride. He gives up driving his old station wagon and finally fixes up the 1967 Chevrolet RS/SS 350 that sat unused in the garage. Watching him drive that beautiful muscle car is one of the best scenes in the movie. Days of Thunder (1990) This action film is about an intense rivalry between underdog racer Cole Tricker — played by Tom Cruise — NASCAR champion racer Rowdy Burns. Cole drives a newly built 1990 Chevrolet Lumina that's branded with the number 46 and a prominent Mello Yello ad. The Lumina's original yellow and green paint job is later replaced with a black base coat. "Days of Thunder" is iconic for bringing more exposure to the world of auto racing. It reinterprets and incorporates bits and pieces of real life events. For example, the Cole Tricker character is loosely based on the late NASCAR driver Tim Richmon. Fast & Furious (2009) In this fourth installment of the " Fast and the Furious " franchise, elite streetracer Dominic Torette, played by Vin Diesel, drives to Los Angeles in the wake of his girlfriend's murder. This film brings back the red 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS that Dominic first drove at the end of the first movie. Now, he's driving back to LA for Letty's funeral — and to find out who killed her. He eventually repaints the Chevelle gray and makes some changes under the hood for a race. Without revealing too many spoilers, let's just say the Chevelle plays a major role in this movie.

The Buick Encore and the Chevrolet Trax are similar vehicles. They both are part of the compact SUV segment and they both offer good handling and gas mileage. Here are some of the similarities and differences between the two vehicles. more Exterior Both the Encore and the Trax have an athletic look that is designed for good maneuverability in tighter city spaces. The Chevy Trax has a front grille with dual ports, while the Encore has a front fascia that is more sculpted. The Trax offers a more aggressive and sporty look with headlights that wrap around the fenders in the front, while the Encore's tri-color shield has a chrome strip that is more refined. The back of the Trax also has a new look with dual taillights and a Premier trim with LED lighting. The Encore adds a spoiler on the top of the back tailgate to extend the roof and make it look longer. Interior For 2017, Buick upgraded the interior materials in the Encore. They added soft touch surfaces and blue ambient lighting for a luxury feel. It also has a new 8-inch color touch screen display that is compatible with both Apple and Android. The Trax was also updated for 2017 with a 7-inch color touchscreen display and a new look for the instrument panel. The infotainment center is also compatible with both Apple and Android, and it offers Chevy's MyLink system for connecting devices. Both vehicles offer 4G LTE technology and they have a WiFi hotspot so you can stay connected where ever you go. Engine The engine in the 2017 Trax remains the same as the previous model. It has a 1.4-liter turbo engine that will get 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque. It also comes standard with a six-speed automatic transmission. The 2017 Buick Encore also has a 1.4-liter turbo engine, but this model also offers a 1.4-liter turbo engine with Start/Stop technology along with direct fuel injection to give it a little more pep. The standard engine will also get 138 horsepower, and with the direct injection this bumps up to 153 horsepower. Both vehicles drive well and offer an all-wheel drive option for those who live in snowy areas. Safety Features The Encore comes standard with 10 airbags along with a rearview camera. A forward collision warning system and lane departure warning system are available options. The Chevy Trax also comes standard with a rearview camera. You can get additional safety options depending on the trim including rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, and lane departure warning. The Buick Encore comes standard with GM's OnStar system and six months worth of service that provides directions and connectivity. Both the Chevrolet Trax and the Buick Encore have some new design features and tech upgrades for 2017. Either one is a good choice for those who need a compact vehicle but want the feel of an SUV and the option for all-wheel drive.

The 2017 Chevy Traverse is a midsize SUV that's the perfect size for a lot of families, but just because you've picked out the right vehicle doesn't mean you know which of its four trim levels is the perfect one for you. Each trim comes with a long list of options and features, so it can help to see a quick list of what each one has to offer. more LS The LS is the least expensive of the four trims, with an MSRP that starts at around $3000 less than the 1LT whether you prefer the front- or all-wheel drive. This makes it the obvious pick if you're budget-conscious. Plus, even with the lower price, the LS still comes with features like eight-passenger seating, a three-month trial subscription to SiriusXM satellite radio, and six months of the OnStar Guidance Plan. You'll also get basic features like the 3.6-liter engine, the 116.3 cubic feet of storage you can get with both back rows folded, and the maximum 5200-pound towing capacity that comes with the optional trailering package. 1LT The advantage of the 1LT trim is that it comes with the longest list of packages and optional features, which gives you the power to balance what you want from your vehicle with what your budget can manage. The 2017 Volt's advanced technology means both trims come with an eight-inch touchscreen with Chevrolet MyLink and support for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which allow your smartphone or tablet to communicate with your Volt and use the onboard systems to make calls, play music, navigate the streets, and use a number of other apps. Here's a quick guide on how to get Apple CarPlay to work with a new 2017 Volt: more Step 1: Set Up Your Phone For CarPlay to work, your iPhone has to have the right software and settings. Specifically, you'll need an iPhone 5 or later with at least iOS 7.1 installed, plus Siri should be turned on. Siri isn't essential to the connection, but she can help answer questions and guide you on the spot if you should have any questions. She also acts as the iPhone's voice command system so without her, you'll be limited to using the touchscreen to interact with CarPlay. Step 2: Plug In The Chevy Volt's center console has a USB port located conveniently close to where you can store your smartphone. By going wired, your Volt and your iPhone will have a solid connection that won't get interrupted by a failing battery. Step 3: Start CarPlay Assuming your Volt is on and MyLink is running, as soon as you plug in your iPhone you should see either the CarPlay homepage or a new app icon that will let you activate CarPlay. If that's not the case, try resetting both your phone and your car, and if that doesn't work then you should ask Siri what you need to do. If it connects without a hitch, you'll be able to talk to Siri through the Volt's voice command system and use her to interact with your iPhone apps, make calls, and dictate text messages. Step 4: Enjoy! The list of supported apps is growing every day, and already you can use CarPlay with essentials like Pandora, iHeartRadio, At Bat, and Audiobooks.com. With a Chevrolet vehicle, you won't have to worry about your data plan, either, since the available OnStar connection can act as a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, connecting up to seven devices at once. The 2017 Chevy Volt isn't your only option when it comes to using Apple CarPlay, and in fact, Chevrolet is leading the way when it comes to integrating CarPlay and Android Auto into all its newest vehicles. If a brand-new model isn't what you're looking for, here are the top contenders among last year's lineup. more 2015 Colorado The Colorado was first released in 2012 in other countries, but made its United States debut in 2015, sporting several body features inspired by the full-size Silverado. As a slightly smaller cousin to the Silverado, the Colorado is a reliable and powerful truck for drivers who don't need the highest price and horsepower in Chevy's pickup selection. At base, the Colorado offers a 2.5-liter inline-4 with 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque, which is ideal for drivers who don't need a V-6. The option is there, however, with a 3.6-liter upgrade that generates 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. Seek out 2015 models to get the most affordable version of this modern truck. 2015 Suburban All new for 2015, the Chevy Suburban was given significant updates over the 2014 model, like more assertive styling and the Silverado-based underpinnings. This hefty but graceful family wagon has a stronger frame and new options like adaptive shocks. Best of all is the interior quality, which looks richer and better designed. If the increasingly common compact SUVs out there don't hold your interest (or your family), the Suburban has the space you need for a camping trip, road trip, and daily commute. 2015 SS Getting away from the larger vehicles, the Chevy SS is a rear-wheel drive sports car in the middle price range, now much lower since it's no longer brand new. Sporty drivers can appreciate the feel of a manual transmission, and thankfully, the 2015 model received an optional six-speed stick shift, with almost no difference in price compared to the automatic. Despite being a sports car built for straightforward acceleration, the SS gets up to 15/21 city/highway fuel economy, and features magnetic suspension control for more stability on turns and curves. 2015 Impala If fuel economy is a priority, but hybrids aren't an option, last year's Impala may be just what you need. The full-size family car dropped the hybrid version in 2015, opting instead for a more efficient base gasoline engine that is compatible with natural gas fuels. The 2.5-liter inline-4 has better fuel economy than in 2014, while putting out an impressive 195 horsepower. With up to 18.8 cubic feet of cargo space and plenty of room in the front and back seats, Chevy defies the trend of compact and subcompact cars. The 2015 Impala proves that bigger cars can still be efficient, and use their greater size effectively. Though the entire 2015 Chevrolet lineup was terrific, these are four vehicles in particular that did something a little different. Let's face it, Chevy is a household name. Chevrolet is such an iconic brand that many musicians have referenced the vehicles in their songs. If you've ever wondered which famous songs feature the word "Chevy" in their lyrics, we've written up a nice sampling for you: "American Pie" by Don McLean One of the most enigmatic songs of the 1970s, "American Pie" by folk rock singer Don McLean shot to number one for four weeks straight in 1972. Like most songs from the '70s, it's a poignant reminder of iconic models that make us want to turn back the clock and relive the good times. "Ridin' in My Chevy" by Snoop Dogg While many songs feature Chevy in their lyrics, it's a rarity to have the brand mentioned in the title. Rapper Snoop Dogg's song "Ridin' in My Chevy" opens with the lyrics, "When I'm ridin' in my Chevy and I'm sittin' at the light, at the light." Being a Chevy fan never sounded more dope. "Chevy Ridin' High" by Rick Ross ft. Dre Okay, so maybe mentioning Chevy in a song title isn't that unusual a choice for rappers. Released in 2006 by artist Rick Ross and featuring Dre, "Chevy Ridin' High" pays direct tribute to Chevrolet vehicles like few songs ever have. The rap starts off with the repetitive, "Chevy ridin' high boy, Chevy ridin' high boy/Chevy ridin' high, bumpin' gangsta music," making anyone want to get in their car and turn up the audio. "Chattahoochee" by Alan Jackson If you think Chevy gets a lot of nods from rappers, country musicians tend to go a step further. Chevy trucks, in particular, have long been the subject of country song lyrics, reinforcing their status as a cultural icon. Alan Jackson's "Chattahoochee" is one of the most noted songs thanks to its lyrics, "Well we fogged up the windows in my old Chevy, I was willing, but she wasn't ready." "Song of the South" by Alabama Another great country song that gives Chevy a nod is " Song of the South " by Alabama. Released in 1988, the song features the lyrics, "Well Momma got sick and Daddy got down, the county got the farm and they moved to town. Silverado 1500: 2009 By 2009, the Silverado 1500 was a couple years into the second generation. Sporting a new exterior and interior design, suspension system, and driving capabilities, the pickup established itself as one of the top trucks on the market. We're particularly fond of the truck for the variety of engine choices. Silverado 2500HD/3500 HD: 2000 We all have a soft spot for the initial model year of a particular vehicle, but that's not the only reason why we opted for the 2000 Silverado 2500 Heavy Duty and 3500 Heavy Duty. It's also because the pickup was unlike anything we had seen at the time. Chevy has produced a handful of pickups over the years, culminating in the brand's current crop of trucks. Before we could get to the Colorado and the Silverado, we had some impressive (and rather innovative) pickups, and several of those model years stand out in particular. While it's unlikely that you'll find any of these used Chevy trucks for sale, it's still fun to explore these individual models. Plus, if you ever do happen to come across one of these trucks, you'll know that you should be making the purchase... more 1930 Pickup While the 1930s pickup certainly resembled the traditional truck we know today, many would argue that Chevy had actually produced a similar vehicle 12 years before. The 1918 Chevy Four-Ninety Half-Ton Light-Deliver Cowl Chassis resembled more of a golf car, although the vehicle was typically referred to as a truck. However, we're going to stick with the 1930s pickup as the brand's official entry into the segment. The production coincided (either intentionally or coincidently) with Chevy's purchase of the Martin-Parry body company in 1930, as the big brand used the former' brand steel-body half-ton design. Within the next five years, this now-traditional design became synonymous with all pickup trucks, although there were several changes over time. For instance, the half-ton pickup that was released in 1937 featured a stronger, more rugged body. Per usual, it wasn't necessarily the design that impressed. Instead, many focused on the impressive inline-six-cylinder engine, a unit that soon earned the nicknames (according to PickupTrucks.com) "Cast Iron Wonder" and "Stovebolt." These engines would evolve before the end of the decade, with a 78-horsepower unit eventually being added. 1955 Task Force Pickup Chevy started getting bolder with their design strategies over the years, and this culminated with the mid-1950s Task Force Pickup. The design was based off the 1955 Bel Air, and engineers even gave customers the option to include the smaller V8 small-block engine. The vehicle featured a larger, longer cabin with a shorter bed. When general truck fans think of a retro Chevy truck, this is probably the vehicle that comes to mind. Engineers further revolutionized the segment by including four-wheel-drive capabilities in 1957. The Task Force was updated until 1959, when the nameplate was retired. This wasn't the only new inclusion to the Chevy truck line during the 1950s. The Cameo Carrier, which PickupTrucks.com described as a "gentleman's pickup" The vehicle was only available for three years, but the website notes that it set the stage for future Chevy trucks (like the El Camino, Avalanche, and Silverado). 1972 Chevy LUV Everybody loves the iconic Chevy LUV, and it's not only for the cute name. When the vehicle debuted on coastal markets in 1972, it was an instant hit. By partnering with Isuzu, Chevy was able to include an impressive 75-horsepower four-cylinder engine and four-speed manual transmission. Of course, the vehicle also offered solid fuel economy specs, making it a popular choice during the 1970s. Customers were particularly enamored with the design, including the "ladder-style frame" and the "6-foot bed." The vehicle offered a 1,100-pound payload and enough room for two passengers. Whether it's Chevy's first truck, their smaller pickup from the 1950s, or the beloved Chevy LUV, the brand has produced a number of great trucks over the years. Based on the company's current trio of trucks, we can only expect bigger and better things in the future.
