The 2022 Chevrolet Trax and Buick Encore look similar at first glance. They are both compact SUVs around the same price, with great gas mileage, and the same amount of cargo space. Either would be a great choice for a daily driver. But, with all these similarities, what are the differences between the Buick Encore and Chevrolet Trax? Keep reading to find out.

2022 Chevrolet Trax

The 2022 Chevrolet Trax is an easily maneuverable, budget-friendly, subcompact SUV, with a starting MSRP of $21,400. The Trax has an intuitive infotainment system, spacious interior, and gets good gas mileage, making it a great choice for a daily vehicle to drive on Lexington roads.

A Boost in Power for the 2022 Chevrolet Trax

Chevrolet gave an exciting update for 2022. The new Trax got a boost in power – it went from 139 hp and 148 lb.-ft. of torque to 155 hp and 177 lb.-ft. This is a significant upgrade, making the Trax even more appealing as a budget-friendly SUV.

A Stylish and Roomy Interior

Although the Chevrolet Trax looks small from the outside, the interior is surprisingly spacious. When you fold the 60/40 rear seats down, there is 48.4 cu. ft of room inside the Trax – more than enough room for all your road-trip essentials. The Trax gives you even more storage in a tray under the rear floor and the front passenger under-seat drawer on the LT. You and your passengers will be comfortable with the available heated front seats and the four possible seating configurations.

There is plenty of tech in the interior, as well. Every Chevy Trax comes standard with the 7” Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a 3-month trial subscription of Sirius XM, and an available built-in Wi-Fi hotspot. If you and your passenger like to charge your phone while you’re in the car, you’re covered – the Trax has two USB ports you can use.

A Modern Exterior with New Special Editions

The exciting features of the Trax don’t end there. New for 2022, the Trax comes in two special editions – the Midnight Edition and Sport Edition. The Midnight Edition comes with:

  • 18” gloss black aluminum wheels
  • All-season Blackwall tires
  • Black front and rear skid plates
  • Front and rear skid plates
  • Front and rear bowtie emblems
  • Black beltline moldings and door handles
  • Black Chevrolet bowtie emblems

The Trax comes standard with 16” aluminum wheels. The LT has side rails and roof-mounted luggage racks, making it a desirable choice for people that love to travel. LED daytime running lamps and taillamps are available on the LT – perfect for those who like to have the modern style that’s expected on Lexington and Louisville city streets.

Great Gas Mileage and Performance

The Trax is surprisingly snappy – the 1.4L turbocharged engine is capable of 155 hp and 177 lb.-ft. of torque. It gets an EPA-estimated 24 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway, making it even better for your road trips out of Kentucky. It comes with a standard six-speed automatic transmission and the choice between front or all-wheel drive. The Trax’s brakes are one of the strongest in its class[1], making it easy to navigate.

Features to Keep You Safe

Every 2022 Chevrolet Trax comes standard with a rear vision camera, a tire pressure monitoring system, a high-strength safety cage, 10 airbags, and up to three months of OnStar Safety and Security coverage. You can add more safety features, which include a forward-collision warning, blind spot monitoring, and rear parking sensors.

Fantastic Warranty and Maintenance Coverage

As an added perk, Chevrolet offers a complimentary first maintenance visit for the 2022 Chevrolet Trax. The limited warranty covers three years or 36,000 miles and the powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles.

2022 Buick Encore

The 2022 Buick Encore is just as exciting. It has a tasteful exterior, a comfortable interior, and some great safety features. The starting MSRP of $24,600, plus the features below, make the Buick Encore a top choice for a budget-friendly SUV.

A New Engine and Exciting Features for the 2022 Encore

The 2022 Encore underwent a couple of changes this year, including the discontinuation of the base trim, leaving only the Preferred trim available. The engine got a boost, going up to 155 hp from the previous 138 hp. Buick also added a new standard electric heater and driver/front passenger seatback map pockets.

A Comfortable and Tech-Filled Interior

Inside, the Buick Encore impresses with a load of technology to keep you and your passengers entertained and comfortable, plus ample cargo space. With keyless open and start and quiet tuning technology, the Encore is tailored for your convenience and comfort.

The 2022 Encore’s second-row seats fold down, giving it a maximum of 48.4 cu.-ft. of cargo space – the same as the 2022 Chevrolet Trax. Without the rear seats folded, you get 18.8 cu. ft., which is more than enough room to store all your belongings and carry-ons on your next family road trip. If you need to stow a longer item, you can fold down the front passenger seat.

In addition to the cargo space, the Buick Encore is appealing due to the plethora of intuitive technology. It comes standard with a 7.0” IntelliLink infotainment system, with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a six-speaker audio system, and audio streaming capability via Bluetooth, USB, or an auxiliary jack. If you want even better sound, you can upgrade to a Bose premium audio setup with seven speakers.

A Modern, Sleek Exterior

The exterior of the 2022 Buick Encore does not disappoint. The 18” standard aluminum wheels with Technical Gray pockets, standard LED daytime running lamps, and the available power moonroof give the Encore a stylish and modern exterior. In addition, the LED-accented taillamps reflect the sporty personality.

If you love to go on long trips, a road trip package is available, which includes all-weather floor mats and roof rack cross rails. A solar-absorbing windshield is standard, which helps to minimize the effects of solar rays entering the cabin and assists in keeping the cabin at a comfortable temperature. You’ll also get heated power outside mirrors, a helpful feature for icy Kentucky winters.

Turbocharged Performance

The Buick Encore is powerful for its size. It uses a six-speed automatic transmission, with a 1.4L Turbo engine, capable of up to 155 hp. If you want more capability, you can choose to get the available all-wheel drive. This option helps to monitor all four wheels and transfer power among the wheels when necessary. The 2022 Encore also has StabiliTrak – a feature that automatically intervenes when it senses the loss of traction.

The Encore gets an EPA-estimated 24 mpg in the city and 32.0 mpg on the highway, the same estimate as the Trax.

Impressive Safety Features

If you are considering the purchase of a 2022 Buick Encore for the family or a new driver and are worried about the safety features, rest assured. The 2022 Encore comes standard with 10 airbags and a plethora of available safety technology to make you feel safe every time you enter the vehicle. Standard safety technology for the Buick Encore includes OnStar and Buick Connected Services capability, a LATCH (lower anchors and tethers for children) system, a rear vision camera, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

If you desire even more safety tech, Buick offers a variety of safety features including front and rear park assist, lane departure warning, rear-cross-traffic alert, and side blind zone alerts.

A Variety of Warranty Options

Buick offers four warranties for the 2022 Encore, which include:

  • Bumper to Bumper Limited Warranty: 3 years/36,000 miles
  • Powertrain/Drivetrain Limited Warranty: 5 years/60,000 miles
  • Roadside Assistance Program: 5 years/60,000 miles
  • Rust Limited Warranty: 3 years/36,000 miles or 6 years/100,000 miles

So… Which One is Better?

That is up to you to decide! Both have great gas mileage, technology, interior space, and safety features. Although one might beat the other in certain areas, either one would be a great choice for your next vehicle. If you’re looking for a new Buick Encore or Chevrolet Trax for sale in Kentucky, come visit us at Dan Cummins or contact us and we will get you a great deal. Plus, we have an unbeatable lifetime powertrain guarantee on all new vehicles, more than 5000 pleased customers, and we sell and ship to wherever you are located.

With the rising popularity of Jeeps, it’s no surprise Jeep has two spots in the top-ten best-selling SUVs of 2022[1]. But, with 11 models in the 2022 Jeep lineup, it’s hard to choose which one would be the best fit for you. For an abundance of reasons, a great choice would be the Jeep Grand Cherokee. It is the most popular SUV in its class and the most awarded SUV ever, and for good reasons. If you want to learn more about the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee, keep reading.

What is new about the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Jeep made a couple of exciting updates to the Jeep Grand Cherokee for 2022. The most exciting is the addition of an available third row, expanding upon the practicality of the vehicle. Even though Jeep made the Grand Cherokee more useful as a family vehicle, they didn’t forget to innovate this year. They also decided to add an available 4xe model to the Grand Cherokee lineup, with a plug-in hybrid electric motor. In addition to these new features, Jeep continued to give the Grand Cherokee great capability, intuitive technology, comfort, modern style, and a plethora of safety features.

Legendary Capability

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee uses a class-exclusive V8 engine and a PHEV powertrain, giving you the power that you need to tackle Kentucky off-roading trails and city streets. Jeep gives you a choice between three available 4×4 systems – the Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II, and Quadra-Trac III with an electronic limited-slip rear differential. There is also an available Selec-Terrain system which lets you choose between auto, sport, rock, snow, or mud/sand modes, allowing you to conquer any path you face.

The Grand Cherokee also has a class-exclusive Quadra-Lift suspension with electronic semi-active damping, lowering the vehicle at highway speeds to achieve efficient aerodynamics. It allows you to make the vehicle taller to avoid obstacles on rocky terrain while off-roading.

On top of these features, the Grand Cherokee has a booming towing capacity of 7,200 lb. – allowing you to tow your boat, a trailer, or whatever else you are taking on your next adventure.

If you love to go off-road, the Grand Cherokee Trail-Rated Trailhawk would be the best pick for you. It has powerful abilities in five areas:

  1. Traction: Every wheel on the Grand Cherokee works to push it forward, and the 4×4 systems help make sure the correct tire has the most traction when it’s needed.
  2. Ground clearance: The Trailhawk gives a maximum clearance of 11.3” between the underside of the Jeep and the road, helping you to navigate rough terrain.
  3. Articulation: This feature helps to keep the four tires of the Grand Cherokee on the ground.
  4. Water Fording: The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk has special water sealing, high air intake, and a Quadra-Lift suspension system, which allows the Jeep to go through up to 24” of water.

All these performance features work together to make the Jeep Grand Cherokee the perfect vehicle to go off-roading or tow the family around Lexington.

Advanced, Innovative Technology

Not only does the Jeep Grand Cherokee have the performance features you love, but it also has the technology features you look for in a modern vehicle. In fact, the Summit model has the most standard and available technology in its class.

Do you want to ensure your passenger is comfortable and entertained? The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee has you covered. For the first time, the Grand Cherokee has an available passenger screen. It allows the passenger to send directions via the navigation system to the driver’s screen, watch movies, play online content through Amazon Fire TV, or listen to their favorite tunes and podcast through the provided wireless headphones.

Anyone in the vehicle can enjoy premium sound through the available McIntosh sound system. It includes 19 speakers, a 10” subwoofer, and a 17-channel amplifier that delivers up to 950 watts of sound.

The advanced technology does not stop there. The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee has an available 10.1” touchscreen, which lets you add up to five user profiles, customize the home screen, and have simultaneous dual-phone connectivity for passengers. There is also TomTom navigation, a Head-Up Display, a wireless charging pad, a 10.25” driver information digital cluster display, and a digital rearview mirror available.

Comfortable Interior

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee almost guarantees comfort for you and your passengers. When you’ve had a long, stressful day, upon sitting in your Jeep Grand Cherokee, you will be welcomed by the available massaging and heated/ventilated front seats and the interior ambient LED lighting will set the mood for your drive ahead. You’ll have room to throw all your belongings in the back – the Jeep Grand Cherokee has up to 84.6 cu. ft. of cargo room with the second and third row folded down. With just the third row folded, you’ll still have 49.6 cu. ft. of space.

Modern, Stylish Exterior

The exterior of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee does not disappoint. It has a tapered roof, which boosts aerodynamic performance without having to give up your precious cargo space inside. A full suite of premium LED lighting is available, including available fog lamps and standard LED headlamps and taillamps. 21” polished aluminum wheels are also available, adding to the overall stylish exterior. You can add a black roof for a two-tone look or buy the Grand Cherokee in one of the new three colors (Hydro Blue, Midnight Sky, and Ember) if you want to stand out on Lexington roads.

Enhanced Safety Features

With the Grand Cherokee being such a popular family vehicle, it is reasonable that you would be curious about the safety features that the Grand Cherokee offers. Rest assured – the Jeep Grand Cherokee has more than 110 standard and available safety features, making it the vehicle with the most available safety and security features in its class.

If you love driver assistance technology, you will love the active driving assist feature. It helps you remain a safe distance from the vehicle directly ahead of you and centers you in the lane using radar and sensors.

Even the standard safety package is impressive. It boasts a handful of features, including:

  • Adaptive cruise control with stop and go: Automatically changes your driving speed to keep your selected distance from the driver in front of you
  • Active lane management: Keeps you in the lane by measuring how far you are from lane boundaries and provides steering correction to help you avoid a crash with a car in your blind spot
  • Full-speed forward collision warning with active braking and pedestrian/cyclist detection: Uses sensors to alert you to avoid a frontal crash and automatically presses the brakes if you do not
  • Parkview rear back-up camera, with park sense front and rear park assist: Helps you to park easily using cameras and advanced assistance
  • Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-path detection: Uses sensors to detect when a vehicle is in your blind spot or crossing behind your vehicle

There are more safety features of the Jeep Grand Cherokee that you could choose to add, which include:

  • Surround View Camera: Gives an aerial view of the vehicle and its surroundings
  • Night Vision Camera: Uses thermographic technology and infrared sensors to see pedestrians or animals up to 328 ft. ahead and outlines their positions in the instrument cluster
  • Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist: Recognizes open parking spaces and steers the vehicle while directing you to change gears and operate the brakes and accelerator
  • Intersection Collision Assist: Avoids collision by detecting other vehicles and providing audible and visual alerts
  • Traffic sign recognition: Uses a front camera to identify speed limits and traffic signs

With all these features and more, you will feel safe driving your Jeep Grand Cherokee through Lexington or Louisville streets.

The Eco-Friendly 4xe

If you are looking for a Grand Cherokee that is better for the environment and will save you money at the gas pump? Check out the new Grand Cherokee 4xe. It’s the most planet-friendly in its class and gets up to 470 miles of range when using the hybrid mode. They didn’t sacrifice power, though – it gets up to 375 hp, 470 lb.-ft. of torque, and has a 6,000 lb. maximum towing capacity. You can choose from three driving modes on the 4xe based on what you need that day: hybrid, electric, and esave mode.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is also great for off-roading. It has a water-sealed battery pack, which lets you drive through up to 24” of water. It also has the Quadra-Trac 4×4 system, which has a two-speed low transfer case that uses sensors to determine if the tires are slipping. When a tire slips, up to 100% of the available torque is given to the axle with the most traction to keep you on the road or trail.

The Grand Cherokee 4xe has Quadra-Drive II with a rear electronic limited-slip differential, which is an always active, full-time 4×4 system. This lets you drive the Jeep in all weather conditions by giving a single rear wheel up to 100% of the available torque if necessary. In addition, the underbody is always protected on the Grand Cherokee 4xe due to the reinforced housing that ensures the important components can handle any trail. To ensure you stay charged while off-roading, Jeep is installing solar-powered charging stations near popular off-roading trails in the US.

When you think about high-performance, all-American sports cars, the Camaro and Corvette probably come to mind. Chevrolet manufactures both vehicles, but there are significant differences between the two. Read on to learn more about Corvettes and Camaros for sale in Kentucky.

Engine and Transmission

Corvette

The 2022 Corvette engine is powerful, with up to 490 hp and 470 lb.-f.t. of torque.

The sole transmission is an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic controlled by a push-button gear selector on the center console or two large steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles.

New in 2023, the Corvette Z06 will feature a flat-plane V8, capable of 670 hp. It will hit a redline of 8600 rpm. That’s 2000 rpm higher than the Stingray – making the Z06 the most powerful Corvette yet.

Camaro

The 2022 Camaro’s best engine is in the ZL1 trim – a supercharged 6.2 liter V8 with 650 hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. The base engine is a turbocharged 2-liter 4-cylinder rated at 275 hp and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. You can also opt for a 6.2-liter engine with 455 hp and 455 lb.-ft. of torque on the LT1 and SS trims.

A six-speed manual transmission is standard, but the automatic transmission is more popular. You can also get an eight-speed automatic transmission with the 4-cylinder engine and a 10-speed with the V6 engine.

Performance

Performance-wise, the bottom range of the Corvette can compare with the top range Camaro.

The Corvette goes from zero to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds[1], while the top trim of the Camaro goes from zero to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds[2]. That’s a mere 0.6 second time difference.

Price

The Corvette is significantly more expensive, with a starting price of $60,900[3]. The Camaro starts at $26,195.

To ensure you get the best price on a Corvette or Camaro in Kentucky, shop with us at Dan Cummins in Paris or Georgetown.

Interior, Space, and Technology

Comfortable seats, modern design, and modern accents enhance the interiors of both cars.

Technology

Both vehicles come standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Corvette has a 12” driver information display, with an 8” infotainment touchscreen angled toward the driver. HD and satellite radio, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, remote start, and two USB ports are also standard on the 2022 Corvette.

The entry-level infotainment display for the Camaro is 7”. You can also upgrade to a higher-resolution 8” display in upper trims. Keyless entry, a heated leather steering wheel, single-zone automatic climate control, adjustable power seats with heating and cooling, and cruise control are standard on the 2022 Camaro.

Storage Space

Chevrolet decided to switch it up this year and move the engine of the Corvette behind the passenger compartment, allowing for more cargo space. There are two trunk areas– one in front of the passenger and another behind the engine, adding up to a total of 13 cu. ft. of storage. There is only one trunk in the Camaro, which gives 9 cu. ft. of storage space.

Body Style

The Camaro has seating for four people and comes in a convertible or coupe body style.

The Corvette is a true two-seater. The roof on the coupe can be removed, but the Corvette is also available as a convertible.

For this employee spotlight, we stopped and got to know the Reconditioning Supervisor for our Chevy Buick Paris location, Chris Hobbs!

Chris got his start with Dan Cummins six years ago in detail. After that, he went to Buff and Touch, where he buffed cars for about a year and a half. Then, he painted wheels in the wheel department (when we had one). Finally, he reached the position he’s in now.

When asked about his favorite part of working here, he said, “Just being around cars. It’s a great environment to be around. Everyone around here is good to each other.”

Chris is a self-described “big movie guy.” His favorite pastime is to go to the movies with family and friends, and his favorite movie star is Mark Wahlberg.

Chris’ dream car is a 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle.

Thank you for all you do, Chris! We are proud to have you as a part of the Dan Cummins team!

Electric vehicles are no longer a thing of the distant future. They are here, and they are not going anywhere. As their popularity rises, you may be wondering what EV is the best to buy. The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV would be a great choice.

Here are some reasons the Bolt EV is an amazing choice of an electric vehicle:

The 2022 Bolt EV has one-pedal driving.

One pedal driving on the Bolt EV captures energy through regenerative braking, sending the energy lost from deceleration back into the battery pack for the highest total vehicle range. The driver can control it by using the accelerator to speed up and down, not the brake pedal. It can even bring the Bolt EV to a stop.

Drivers can choose between a series of four modes to operate regenerative braking:

  • Operating in Drive and easing off the accelerator
  • Operating in Drive and using the Regen on-demand paddle on the back of the steering wheel
  • Operating in Low and easing off the accelerator
  • Operating in Low and using the Regen on-demand paddle in tandem

Chevy has made charging easier than ever.

Purchasing an EV is becoming more accessible every day. To ensure you have no difficulties transitioning to an electric vehicle, Chevrolet will cover the costs of the at-home installation of a level two charging outlet with the purchase or lease of a 2022 Bolt EV or EUV[1].

In addition, you can track your charging using the myChevrolet mobile app. It uses vital information, such as the vehicle’s battery level, the weather, and driving conditions to calculate the Bolt’s range and to find any necessary charging stops along the way. This is perfect for the ever-changing weather conditions in Kentucky.

The 2022 Bolt has all the technology you need.

The 2022 Bolt EV comes standard with an 8” diagonal driver information center, which includes power and confidence gauges. The standard infotainment system has a 10.2-inch display, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You can opt to add built-in Alexa. On top of that, the driver-display screens show efficiency history, range impacts, and energy flows. If you are a fan of hands-free driving technology, Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance technology is available.

You do not have to compromise on safety.

The 2022 Bolt is made to keep you safe, with an abundance of safety tech on each trim. An HD rear vision camera, pedestrian safety signal, teen driver technology, Signature LED daytime running lights, and StabiliTrak stability and traction control are standard on every Chevy Bolt EV. You can also add rear cross traffic alerts, rear park assists, and lane change/side blind zone alerts.

The Bolt EV has all the comfort you need.

The Chevy Bolt EV has all the features that you would expect in other, more expensive models. The premium interior cabin has leather-appointed seats, an 8-way powered driver’s seat, and a sport-inspired steering wheel.

There is plenty of space for five passengers – with a false cargo floor for more storage, 36” rear-inch legroom, storage under the center console, and 57 cubic ft. of max cargo volume. If you’re planning to venture out of Kentucky on a road trip any time soon, the Bolt EV would be a comfortable choice in a vehicle.

The Chevy Bolt EV has a wide range of features that make it a top-tier choice of an EV. A strong mix of safety and efficiency technologies make it one of the best family cars available. If you’re looking for a car with extended range, safety features, and the technology that you and your family want, stop by our Dan Cummins Chevrolet dealership in Paris or Georgetown, Kentucky or call us at 877-661-2805 to learn more about or test drive a 2022 Bolt EV today.
